I fell for a building

•  The dusty and crowded city of Pune shared a lot of similarities with my hometown Tehran, and the facade of hotel Shalimar resembled buildings of Tehran where I grew up.  I walk on the margin of this crumbling old facade, in an effort to make a line drawing on the face of the building using white rope as my drawing material. During this process, I unwind the tangled rope, map every step of my way, and navigate a familiar yet unfamiliar space. By scaling the surface of this century old building, I recreate the experience of never having a stable ground under my feet.
Hotel Shalimar is where I stayed at during the Artel Residency 2016.
